Gandhi Jayanti Celebration at Vikalp Rehabilitation Centre
Vikalp De- addiction, Counseling and Rehabilitation Centre is an intrinsic part of the CCAA Trust that was established on 1st October 2003 by Mr. Pradeep Goyal, with an aim of treating patients from any kind of addiction problems. Vikalp uses specialized methods to treat its patients and make them socially active.
Vikalp Rehab believes in treating its patients with utmost care and providing homely environment. On 2nd October 2017 Vikalp celebrated Gandhi Jayanti in full swing with the patients and staff members. Mr. Rajesh Sinha, Under- Secretary (MSJE) was the special invitee at the event. Gandhi Jayanti celebrations were based on the theme of ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ and were anchored by the trustee Ms. B. Lakshmi. The program was successfully executed by Ritu Rana, Alok Gautam and Mr. Shekhar and was coordinated by Ms. Kanta Rawat.
The function had special performances from the in-house patients namely, Prashant Arora, Ayush Bhandari, Himanshu, Sagar, Ajay, Malay, Yogender, M.G. Nair, Ashok, Rahul, Kamal, Mohammed Taiyab, Jitender and Abhimanyu.
The first performance was an audio song giving tribute to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi “de di hamen azadi bina khadag bina dhal sabarmati ke sant tune kar diya kamal aandhi me bhi jalti rahi gandhi teri mashal sabarmati ke sant tune kar diya kamal de di…” Followed by the Swach Bharat Abhiyan (Play) one of the dialogue from the play said “Mahatma Gandhi ki hamne bahut si pratima laga di aur uspar mala arpan kar di lekin Mahatma Gandhi ji ke pratima ke samne bikhri hui gandagi….”
There were many spine- shivering moments in the play like the one when Gandhiji provides freedom to the Bharat Mata. Adding spark to the function there were bhakti song performance on the song “hum laye hai, tufan se kasti nikal ke, is desh ko rakhna mere baccho sambhal ke..” and quawwali performance on the songs “kya mangu mujhko khuda mil gya “ and “shirdiwale sai baba aya hai tere dar pe sawali ” Jitendra gave an amazing hip-hop performance on the song “bezuba kab se mein raha” the last performance was by Mr. Ashok Naithani who gave a bhakti song performance on the song “hai preet jaha ki reet sada, mai geet waha ke gata hu , bharat ka rehne wala hu bharat ki baat sunata hun ”.
Mr. Rajesh Sinha appreciated the efforts of the patients and said that from past three- four years he has been attending the functions at Vikalp and every time he has witnessed a better performance from the members. The function was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Kanta Rawat and requested people to contribute in the Swach Bharat Abhiyan.
